According to Autobytel, Chevrolet offers the Silverado in six different trims with Work Truck, LS, Custom, LT, LTZ, High Country, LT, and LTZ with the most affordable of all the trims, the Work Truck trim powered by V-6 engine and two-wheel drive retails at $28,780.
The High Country trim, being the most expensive, can go as much as $69,205 with options. Ford also offers a multitude of trim levels as well with XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, and Limited models. Ford F-150’s starting price is considerably cheaper at $27,735 and the most expensive Limited ones can peak at $69,645.

The 2017 Chevrolet Silverado is offered in a special Midnight Edition which features blacked-out wheels, trim and bow tie emblems. It also has a resemblance to the larger Silverado HD trucks which adds to its powerful and masculine appeal. The 2017 Ford F-150, on the other hand, boasts of its aluminum box and cab. In this case, the F-150 looks lighter and more athletic than the Silverado.
Interior is also a very important aspect to consider. The Silverado features a column-shift transmission and an instrument panel that provides a lot more information than before. It uses Chevrolet MyLink interface which is considered one of the most intuitive infotainment system in the market. The F-150 comes equipped with infotainment system as well, however, its navigation and stereo interface are not well favored by industry experts.
As added by The Car Connection, the 2017 Ford F-150’s 10-speed being only limited to one engine is also not as favored too. Other areas for improvement are the base V-6 is not so much convincing and there are no advanced powertrains. The 2017 Chevrolet Silverado’s areas for improvement are not having fuel economy benefit from eight-speed and jumpy rear end with the 6.2-liter V-8.
At the end of the day, both the 2017 Chevrolet Silverado and 2017 Ford F-150 offer a myriad of specs and features distinct and sometimes similar with each other. It has its fair share of misgivings as well, as no pickup truck is created perfect. With that said, it is tied as both Silverado and F-150 are considered two of the best trucks in its own right.
